Kids' Ski Sets

Children lose heat faster than adults and complain sooner, so a kids' ski set has to be warm enough to keep them out all afternoon and simple enough that they can put it on themselves. Every NANEND kids' set starts with a waterproof, windproof outer shell, adds thermal padding through the body and seats, and finishes with adjustable cuffs, hems and a hood that stays put in wind.

One-piece or two-piece: which suits your child?

One-piece ski suits seal snow out completely, which makes them the easiest option for younger children who spend as much time rolling in the snow as skiing on it. Two-piece sets are more flexible and easier for toilet breaks, and the jacket can be worn on its own in milder weather. Both styles are cut with a little extra length in the sleeves and legs so the set still fits after a growth spurt.

What to look for in a kids' ski set

Check the waterproof rating first, then the seams, then the insulation. Taped seams matter more than a high headline number on a child's garment, because snow gets pushed against the fabric constantly. Look for elasticated inner cuffs at the wrists, a snow skirt or bib inside the jacket, and reinforced knees and seats on the trousers. All NANEND kids' sets are unisex, so siblings can hand them down.

Sizing and layering

Start with a merino or synthetic base layer underneath, then the ski set itself. If your child runs cold, a thin fleece mid-layer fits comfortably inside our one-piece suits. Size up if you are between sizes and plan on a mid-layer; the adjustable waist tabs take up the slack.
